About Hitchin' Up

Hitchin' Up is my blog dedicated to camping.  I named it "Hitchin' Up" for that moment when you are about to embark on the camping adventure when you hitch up the trailer, then get in the truck to set off.  It's the lower blood pressure and the weight of the world coming off your shoulders.

I've camped since I was a kid.  When I was barely old enough I was tent camping in State Parks.  After many moons under the canvas we decided we needed to get up off the ground.  We found a teardrop camper by Little Guy right near us in Massillon, OH.

Then we wanted to not have to run to the outhouse in the middle of the night.  So then we found our first travel trailer - a 14 foot Sportsman Classic.

Last year we bought the trailer that we've been lusting after since we first saw it at the Cleveland RV show years ago - a Gulf Stream Visa.  It's a 19 foot trailer, but it has everything we need.  And we plan to keep this one for quite some time.

Well, at least until we hit the road full time in our fifth wheel!
